Man-dog, as the Ukrainian artist Oleg Kulik was called by art critics – referring to a series of his performances in Russia and abroad, in which he truly identified with a dog – had already adopted a radical artistic approach at the end of the nineteen-eighties. Animal as Man’s Alter Ego, i.e. animal as anthropomorphous stranger, is a theme also present in the photographic series My Family (1998).
