Ivo Gattin is one of the most radical post-war Croatian artists. During the second half of the fifties he began to use new materials – metal sheets, wire, and sand, which he combined with colours, pigments, varnishes, resins, chalk, and wax, investigating exclusively the possibilities of self-expression of matter.
